The Silence of Winter

the hum of life did not cease.

it is simply that i was
insulated from its cadence
by the cold.
now, in the world’s warming,
when windows are raised to let in
the cool night air,
my ears are opened to
forgotten sounds.

in the silence of winter,
one must listen closely to
the growing seed.

the flower opens.
the visitor is welcomed.
outside my window, i hear the
warm buzz of bees.

World Premier! Monday Monday Song 66 – Diastole

Diastole by PeaceGroover

di·as·to·le (dīˈastlē)
– noun – the phase of the heartbeat when the heart muscle relaxes and allows the chambers to fill with blood.

In the modern world, it is difficult to hear the still small voice.

My prayer?

I’m listening.

An Attentive God

How quick I am to say that God is not listening and to my prayers has turned a deaf ear
when it is more likely that God has given me an answer that I do not wish to hear.
