The Spirit hovered over the waters, searching, but finding only emptiness, and so God began to fill the world with love.
Creatures of all kinds frolicked on land, in the sky and sea, and God played for awhile.
Yet something (or someone) was missing.
Standing there smiling, with the birds nesting in celestial hair, God reached deep into the earth and brought forth humanity.
And God was not lonely anymore.
Yet, in the wideness of God’s love there is still room for one more,
for we are discontent until we realize we were created to be
a friend of God.
