One of my literary heroes, Richard Adams, passed away on Christmas Eve. I can’t tell you how many times I have read his most famous work “Watership Downs,” (which I originally mistook for a sea story), but I was also thrilled to later on discover “Shardik” and “Plague Dogs,” (one of my all time favorites).
Mr. Adams’ ability to describe the world of animals and their turbulent relationship with humankind is beyond compare. His work has triggered several similar ideas in my own imagination which I hope to write about soon.
I will miss him but he lives on in his words.
